Appleton Public Library recommends Lucy LaFaive

"On January 12, 2010, I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Lucy LaFaive in a program at Appleton Public Library. Our scheduled presenter did not arrive, and Ms. La Faive offered to lead our session at the very last minute, with no time for preparation. My group members and I were very impressed with the ease with which she stepped in and led the group.

She started with breathing exercises and progressive muscular relaxation that grounded and relaxed the participants, then moved on to a guided meditation/visualization. Her voice and tone were very soothing and relaxing, and participants were surprised, afterwards, to learn that Ms. La Faive was not our original presenter, but had filled in last minute.

After the breathing, relaxation, and visualization, Ms. La Faive led a discussion with the group about how they felt and what the meditation brought out for each individual. Discussion was lively and she did a nice job of giving everyone a chance to speak and keeping people on topic. The group would have been happy to keep talking with Ms. LaFaive well beyond our 2 hour time limit!

Afterwards, a number of people commented to me that it was one of the best sessions they had attended, and requested that we have Ms. La Faive return for another session in the future. I was personally impressed with the fact that Ms. La Faive was willing to jump in and lead a program without any advance notice, and the work she did was wonderful. I left the session relaxed, centered, and energized. I highly recommend Ms. La Faive as a program facilitator."
